Estate Administration

Guidance for Executors and Administrators

The Firm assists with estate administration after probate, including inventories, asset coordination, distributions, tax coordination, and estate closing.

After a Will has been admitted to probate, executors and administrators must identify estate property, address required filings, coordinate transfers, handle claims and debts, and complete the administration of the estate.

  • Locate, identify, and value estate assets
  • Prepare and file the Inventory, Appraisement, and List of Claims
  • Coordinate federal estate and income tax issues with appropriate tax professionals
  • Prepare agreements and documents needed to partition property or fund testamentary trusts
  • Distribute property to the proper persons
  • Handle related non-probate dispositions, including beneficiary designations and joint accounts
  • Close the estate when administration is complete

The Firm also assists with litigation relating to trusts, estates, fiduciaries, and estate-administration disputes.
