After a Will has been admitted to probate, executors and administrators must identify estate property, address required filings, coordinate transfers, handle claims and debts, and complete the administration of the estate.
- Locate, identify, and value estate assets
- Prepare and file the Inventory, Appraisement, and List of Claims
- Coordinate federal estate and income tax issues with appropriate tax professionals
- Prepare agreements and documents needed to partition property or fund testamentary trusts
- Distribute property to the proper persons
- Handle related non-probate dispositions, including beneficiary designations and joint accounts
- Close the estate when administration is complete
