Basic Estate Planning

Basic estate planning is about identifying your assets, estimating their values, and making a reasonable prediction as to whether your assets will be subject to the Estate Tax, as well as drafting fundamental documents such as a Will. Documents prepared in the course of basic estate planning might include:

  • An Estate Plan Record System that tabulates all of the assets and liabilities of your estate
  • A simple Will appointing a Guardian where appropriate
  • Appropriate Powers of Attorney
  • A Directive to Physicians
  • A Revocable Living Trust and Pour Over Will
  • Anatomical Gift Forms
